Bungalow 5 Jacqui Knock-off

I had kept a picture of the Bungalow 5 cocktail table from Layla Grayce in a file for quite awhile.  Recently, my hubby walked in the studio and plopped this beauty down. Isn't he the greatest & I must say, TALENTED!  I chose a Martha Stewart paint: pheasant green to top it off.  I'm quite proud of the finished product.  And yes, it is available for purchase!

Junkin gone crazy!

Today I had the day off and on the spur of the moment, I called a friend, we hit the trails of all the places I'd been wanting to go but was too scared to go by myself.    This definitely proves two are better than one.  WE WERE BRAVE! We went to some pretty scary off the road junk places (not really junk shops and certainly not antique shops); however, we didn't linger long at any of them.  But our last stop of the day was at the salvage yard.  Look what we found!!!!!
I spotted this base to an antique stove and thought this would make a GREAT base for an ottoman!   What would you do with it?
Not sure if this was part of an old piano or what. But I'm going to create a headboard.  All of the beautiful scroll work is gone, but look at the design it left.  So, I'm just going to clean it up a bit more then stain & wax it.  I think the design will be amazing.

A Peak at all the found treasures today.

The white iron spool will become a candlestick.  The iron wheel has great orange, rust, and black patina.  2" candles will fit perfectly in the holes, so it too will become a candleabra.  The wood scroll piece is just quaint. I could not let it rot in the junk pile.

This metal basket has a handle and sturdy feet.  If you love Restoration Hardware, this basket is for you.  The possibilities are endless!!!

I'm thinking about rusting this piece or painting it black; use small alligator clips to hang pictures in the center.

Not sure about this piece yet.  Could hang from the ceiling for pot rack, or on the wall as a towel rack or ?????  What are your ideas?

This is just another close up of the wood piece.  LOVE the pattern.

My friend has been junking at a lot of places, but never a JUNK YARD.  We are forever bonded.

Princess Taylyn's Room

My granddaughter was born May 2, 2011.  What a joy to decorate her room.
Pappy made her dresser.  Daughter found the  antique mirror.

The chocolate, raspberry and cream bedding was our inspiration for color choices.
Burlap panels & valance are hung on a branch.

My daughter has had this Kim Anderson print since she was a freshman in High School.
The roses are the perfect shade of raspberry.  Pat The Bunny book on the shelf
was my daughter's first book.   So many precious memories.

Tree branch is lit the pussy willow mini lights.  The bird cage houses the
baby monitor which allow Mommy to see her all night (when needed LOL)

Found this adorable little wicker chair.  I upholstered it in burlap.
My grandmother name is Khaki. I made my son in law
pinky promise this would NEVER be a time-out chair.  :0)

Hummel Antique bookend is in the birdcage.

No branch is complete without a nest.

Glass Crystal garlands adorn the branches & capture the low light at night.

Tate Farms Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen was a fun project. Everything was removed down to the studs.  New lighting was installed, a new layout was designed to create the most functional and efficient working space. Tile was removed and hardwood flooring was installed.
Custom designed baking center  Middle drawers are deep enough for
canisters.  Mixing bowls are stored below.
Fabulous farmhouse sink

Custom built cabinets. Indian Black granite countertop  Crema Marfel honed natural stone backsplash.
A mantel shelf sits above the stove top.

Custom designed and hand painted mural

Oil Rubbed Bronze faucet

Custom built microwave cabinet

Chicken wire adds a country touch to the white lacquered cabinets.
The opposite side has clear glass with white mullions.

Every ounce of space was utilized for storage.  This is the back side of where the
microwave sits and is under the overhang for the bar.   We were able to add ajustable shelves so that Christmas
dishes could be stored in this space.

A little niche at the end of the bar.

Was sad that i accidentally deleted the before pictures and forgot to take new pictures after placing the accessories.

Pottery Barn Knock-off.....M

Our friends had a huge pile of old barn wood sitting out in their field.  After viewing one of the Pottery Barn catalogs, I showed this piece to my husband and he said, " I can build that."  Low and behold, I put the PB picture up beside this one & I could hardly tell the difference.  He's AmAZinG!!

Having a baby is one of the most thrilling moments a mom can experience; but, watching my daughter give birth to her daughter was the most amazing event of my life.  I just watched with amazement and I have a new appreciation and understanding of MIRACLE.
My daughter & her first baby.

The most joyous Mother's Day I have ever had!

I was the winner of Killer Zebra's Mother's Day Giveaway.  The cookies were not only adorable

sim card crashed ;0(

I'm still just learning about how to blog & post pictures and try to get them to line up & look somewhat decent.  So jealous of all you bloggers who have beautiful pages and photos.   Had several close up pictures of my CUTCO tools that I could not get to download, and got a message that the disc in now damaged; so I'm bummed.  But anywho....  you got the major gist that I do love my new tools.

Happy Gardening.

French mannequins

Since a lot of the bloggers I'm following love the french mannequins, I thought I'd post the ones I have in my shop so that you could be inspired if you're not fortunate to have a vintage one.
Miniature linen mannequin with a finial top.

This little mannequin is wrapped in french script linen with black and white checked grosgrain ribbon.  If I was better at photographing, you could see the sweet little birdie on top.   The mannequin beside her is also linen with black piping and a finial top.  Both look great adorned, but I personally like them just as they are.

Harlequin Romance

Found this little chest in a junk shop for $30.  It had a bright pink undercoat
and big pink wooden knobs.  At first, I was going to leave it chippy pink & black but
it was too garrish.  I decided to paint a harlequin design, but as I was walking
down the scrapbooking aisle at Hobby Lobby, I saw this paper & decided to try
decoupaging it onto the drawers.       Hmmmmmm   much harder than I thought..

Aligning all those squares was NOT easy.  After attaching the front of the drawers
onto the chest, I saw how crooked the drawers actually are.   Although I'm not super pleased
I did think it turned out cute and would work in some little vignette.

Found the roman numeral clock face knobs at Hobby Lobby &  thought they added a nice touch to the harlequin pattern.

Grayce Willow will arrive in May.  Her mom loves crafting &
gathering
chippy shabby things.
So I used what she had collected and put together her nursery.

The wicker rocker was a vintage find.  the box springs
was bent, had 2 pieces of the bottom frame missing, and had
no batting.  My upholsterer did a fantastic job
of refurbishing this seat.  Lauren's mom is making the bedding
out of these three fabrics.
It hadn't arrived the day I took these pictures.

Lauren's christening dress, slip, booties are
on display until Grayce is able to have her
                               picture made in them.

The frame awaits the birth of Grayce.  The antique
basket will hold diapers.

Antique frame has silver leaf behind the glass. The owl
decal was placed on top of the glass so that the frame wouldn't
be damaged.

The willow branch was placed in the corner by the
changing table. Hair bows adorn the branches.

Dream

Curtains and a bird's nest were hung on a wilow branch above the window.

Everything's ready for the arrival of Princess Grayce!
